Privacy Policy

What we collect

• Account details: your name, email address and sign-in details.
• Coaching data you or your coach enter: goals, training history, injuries and limitations, body measurements, weight, workout plans and logs, meal plans and food logs, sleep, check-ins, goals and session bookings.
• Photos, videos and files: progress photos, food photos, profile pictures, exercise videos, documents and message attachments you upload.
• Messages and community posts: messages between coach and client, conversations with the AI assistant, and community posts, comments and reactions.
• Apple Health data (client app, only if you allow it): the types you grant, such as workouts, activity, sleep, recovery, nutrition and body measurements. You can change this at any time in the Health app.
• Voice input: when you dictate, your phone's speech service (Apple or Google) turns speech into text and may process the audio on its own servers. We receive only the text.
• Subscriptions (coach app): the App Store or Google Play handles payment. We learn which plan you have and its status, never your card details.
• Device and technical data: push notification token, device model, operating system and app version, language, time zone, and crash and error reports.

We don't use advertising trackers, and we don't track you across other companies' apps or websites.

How we use it

• To run the service: showing your coaching data to you and your coach, syncing it between devices, and sending the reminders and notifications you've turned on.
• For AI features: drafting and adjusting workout and meal plans, summarising a client's week, estimating meals from food photos, sorting check-ins by urgency and answering questions in chat.
• To handle subscriptions, answer support requests, keep the community safe and fix problems.

We don't sell personal data and don't use it for advertising. Apple Health data is never used for advertising or marketing.

Who can see your data

• Your coach: if you're a client, your coach sees what you log, including data from Apple Health, the photos and files you share and your messages to them.
• Your clients: if you're a coach, your clients see the plans you assign, your messages and your profile.
• Your community: posts, comments and reactions are visible to the coach and the coach's other clients in that community.
• Service providers that work on our behalf: Railway (servers and database), our cloud storage provider (photos, videos and files), Auth0 (sign-in), OpenRouter and the AI model providers it connects us to, currently mainly Anthropic and OpenAI (AI features), OpenAI (search), RevenueCat (subscriptions), Sentry (crash and error reports), and Expo, Apple and Google (push notifications).
• Authorities or others, when the law requires it or to protect someone's safety.
• A buyer or successor, if TrainerNova is sold or merged. This policy would continue to apply to your data.

AI providers receive only what the feature you're using needs. For example, when a coach drafts a plan, the client's profile, recent logs and check-ins are sent so the plan fits them.

Where your data is stored

Our providers store and process data in the United States and other countries. When your data leaves your country, we rely on the safeguards the law there requires.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account is open. When you delete your account, your account and the data in it are removed from our database. Copies in backups and in our providers' logs are removed as those age out.

Your choices and rights

• Delete your account in either app: Profile, then Delete account.
• Turn off Apple Health access, notifications, camera, photos or microphone in your phone's settings at any time.
• Ask us for a copy of your data, or to correct or delete it, by writing to hello@trainernova.com.

Depending on where you live, you may have further rights, such as objecting to some uses of your data or complaining to your data protection authority.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit, access to it is limited, and photos and files are shared through short-lived signed links. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't promise that data will never be exposed. If a breach affects you, we'll tell you as the law requires.

Children

TrainerNova is meant for adults. We don't knowingly collect data from children under 16. If you think a child has given us data, write to us and we'll delete it.

This website

trainernova.com uses no advertising or analytics cookies. Pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address.

Changes and contact

If we change this policy, we'll update the date above, and tell you in the apps when the change is significant.
